We are building for Peterborough now — Clements Financial is a live project of ours — and we take on websites for businesses across the city and the surrounding Cambridgeshire towns.
Peterborough has grown quickly, and a good number of its businesses are still running websites that were adequate a decade ago. That is an opportunity rather than a criticism: in a market where the competition is slow, dated and hard to use on a phone, a fast, well-structured site does not have to work very hard to come first.
Clements Financial is a Peterborough build, in progress now
Clements Financial are a Peterborough financial services firm, and we are building their new site at the moment. When it goes live it will join the rest of our work with the full story — what they needed, what we built and what changed.
We would rather tell you it is in progress than dress it up as finished. Everything else on our work page is live and linked, so you can go and use the sites yourself rather than take our word for any of it.
Less competition than the big cities, and that is the point
Ranking for a service in Manchester or London means competing against firms with real advertising budgets. Peterborough is a different proposition: the searches are still valuable, the people making them are still ready to buy, and far fewer local businesses have done the groundwork to win them.
That groundwork is unglamorous and effective — a page for each service instead of one page listing everything, a Google Business Profile that is genuinely filled in, steady reviews, and a site quick enough that Google is happy to send people to it.
An hour from London, and the expectations that come with it
Peterborough sits under an hour from King’s Cross, and plenty of its residents work to London standards and habits. They will judge a local website against the ones they use every day at work.
So the bar is not “better than the other firm in town”. It is a site that loads instantly on a phone, reads clearly, and makes getting in touch obvious — which is a low bar to describe and a surprisingly high one to actually clear.
